Back in April 2010, the UK's Guardian ran a nice long article covering the rise of inexpensive 3D fabrication and prototyping technology. One of the coolest things that they covered is a company from London that sells commercial 'desktop' 3D printers, ThingLab. For a mere 56,000 British Pounds, you too can print anything you find in Google's 3D warehouse. They have a wide selection, perhaps there are less expensive models available.
Cory Doctorow got a special mention for his new novel, Makers.
