China develops nuclear powered moon rover

China's nuclear powered lunar rover

The Chinese are working on a nuclear powered rover to explore the surface of the moon. The nuclear power source ensures that the rover has a constant energy supply. Researchers are still looking to refine the rover especially it's its ability to handle low gravity, exposure to cosmic rays and temperature extremes, and plan to build an even more sophisticated laboratory to mimic those conditions, the newspaper said. No word on if the rover will incorporate a radio and flashlight.
