I know that I saw something a few months ago about new fibers that make the concept much more feasible in the not-to-distant future. The wikipedia article makes it appear as though myomer fibers are what I had in mind.
Of course, perhaps this halo inspired suit is also what I have in mind. The halo suit lacks the ability to improve the strength and speed of the wearer, however.
